On Thursday 23rd April, Sense on the Edge at Six Senses Zighy Bay will have a pop-up creative dinner for one day only. This Miyazaki Wagyu Dinner will present a collaboration between the Sense on the Edge culinary team and the Japanese chef behind the concept.

The  Miyazaki  Prefecture  region  is  the  2nd  largest  producer  of  Japanese  black  cow.  Only  the  highest  quality   cattle   from   this   region   can   be   dubbed “Miyazakigyu”.

In  2007  this  class  of  cow  was boasted  the  “Champion Cow”  of  the  “Wagyu  Olympics”  and  til date the  fame  is gradually gaining momentum.  Its beautiful color is one of its attractive factors. In official  sumo  it  is  custom  to  present  the  champion sumo wrestler with one Miyazaki cow.

These  days,  the  popularity  of  Wagyu  is  spreading throughout  the  world.  To  distinguish  true  Wagyu raised  in  Japan,  the  Wagyu  Japanese  Beef  logo  is used.  It  was  decided  upon  by  the  Japan  Livestock Industry Association , and is affixed on Wagyu that was born and raised in Japan when being exported. Check  for  this  logo  as  a  way  to  verify  the  high quality of meat when ordering Japanese Wagyu.
