To promote the health and safety of babies across the UAE, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and JOHNSON’S® Baby will come together on the occasion of the 47th National Day to gift 200 car seats to parents across seven selected hospitals in Dubai. Now in its second year, the initiative will target babies born on December 2 to December 5, 2018 and is a reflection of the number of new arrivals expected during the annual holiday.

The seats will be donated to parents across Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) Latifa Hospital and Dubai Hospital, alongside five private hospitals: American Hospital, Al Zahraa, Saudi German, Dr. Suleiman Al Habib Hospital and NMC Hospital.

Emphasizing DHA’s priority to ensure safety and security for all community members through risk prevention, this National Day initiative aligns with RTA’s commitment to promote health awareness and enforce child safety on the road. As the global leader in baby care, JOHNSON’S® Baby is dedicated to creating a safe and healthy environment for little ones and seeks to create a stimulating and gentle environment where babies can thrive.

“Through this partnership, we feel honored to extend our support to new parents once they leave our care and premises,” said Dr. Badria Al Haremi, Director of Public Health Protection, DHA. “As the entity responsible for overseeing the health system of Dubai, safety remains our ultimate priority as we aspire to meet the highest standards of excellence in the provision of care. We live to safeguard the people of the UAE and are committed to nurturing a healthier and happier community.”

Dima Hussein, Traffic Awareness Senior Manager, Traffic Department, RTA added, “In celebration of the 47th National Day, we are delighted to participate in this important initiative which provides families with newborns with 200 car seats across public and private hospitals in Dubai. We work to enhance the safety of children whilst traveling with their families by road and, through this partnership, we will work to expand this initiative to support parents in maintaining the well-being of children by encouraging them to exercise safety in transportation.”

“As a company that has a lot of parents amongst its workforce, JOHNSON’S® Baby understands the concerns of parents when preparing for that first drive home with their newborn,” commented Naam Jamshed, Senior Director, Government Affairs & Policy, Johnson & Johnson Middle East. “On National Day, we are pleased to join DHA and RTA for the second year to alleviate any tension they may feel during the experience. Driven by our commitment to baby care, we are proud to do our part in ensuring a happy and healthy start to life for babies,” she added.

In its first year, the initiative resulted in donations across DHA’s Latifa Hospital and Dubai Hospital, in addition, to select private hospitals in Dubai. The unified effort proved to be a great success among parents and underlined the partners’ mission to raise awareness surrounding the importance of child health and safety.
