iCademy Middle East has announced the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding with the US-based Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) to further boost the comprehensive range of educational and training opportunities available to students in the UAE.

The strategic agreement between the two educational institutions will see iCademy work closely with RIT’s Dubai campus in order to provide scholarships to outstanding students.

The agreement comes as the region’s leading online school, iCademy Middle East, has recently seen a sharp increase in demand for courses that give young people specialist skills related to computer technology, one of the undergraduate areas that RIT Dubai is renowned for. Talented iCademy students can now further their careers in a variety of technological courses ranging from Digital Media to Computing and Information Sciences at RIT Dubai.

Scholarships covering up to 50% of tuition fees will be made available to deserving students from iCademy who have demonstrated the necessary academic abilities to enrol at RIT Dubai.

As part of the MOU, talented iCademy students will have the chance to attend classes at one of RIT Dubai’s wide range of courses that foster creativity and innovation through a combination of technology, art and design.

Youngsters who are currently enrolled at iCademy or are an alumnus/alumna at the time of their application will be considered for the newly launched RIT Dubai scholarship programme.

As part of the far-reaching MOU, staff from RIT Dubai will also work with faculty from iCademy on a range of educational and student-focused initiatives, with iCademy also hosting highly-qualified professors from RIT New York and its international campuses.

Established in 1892 in New York State, New York, RIT is one of the world’s leading academic institutions, providing students from across the globe the opportunity to take part in ground-breaking research and studies.

RIT’s Dubai campus is part of an international network of centres of learning that include China, Croatia and Kosovo.

The work being carried out by RIT complements the ongoing efforts of the faculty and higher management at iCademy, which provide a bespoke, highly personalised approach to individual learning that has proved to be both popular and successful with students and their families in the UAE.

iCademy provides a US-based online-applied curriculum to youngsters attending KG through to Grade 12, with particular attention paid to helping students who may have struggled or have outgrown a mainstream education environment achieve their full potential.

Catering equally to advanced learners, youngsters who are unable to attend classes and children with specific educational needs, iCademy’s pioneering approach to learning has proven to be hugely successful and much-loved by parents and students alike.

General Manager of iCademy Middle East, Cody Claver said: “This newly signed Memorandum of Understanding is a hugely important step in the ongoing development of iCademy and provides our students with a wonderful opportunity to attend one of the world’s premier educational institutions.

“The scholarship programme will allow students who reach the necessary standard to discover an advanced level of learning. With scholarships of up to 50% available, this means the economic burden of fees will be lifted allowing even more students to experience higher education at a globally renowned university.

“Everyone at iCademy is looking forward to working closely with our colleagues at RIT Dubai as well as from RIT’s international campuses to create even more opportunities for iCademy’s students to change their lives through education.”
