A new journey of Palm experiences, The Palm Monorail has re-opened to the public just in time for the long UAE National Day weekend and offers residents and tourists a scenic voyage throughout all its iconic destinations.

The Palm Monorail connects key landmarks of the Palm Jumeirah, starting from the Gateway Station at the entry of the Palm Jumeirah, through to Golden Mile Galleria, Al Ittihad Park, Nakheel Mall and Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark station – the final stop on the journey. In addition to this, work has commenced at The Pointe station, scheduled for completion in 2021.

Originally inaugurated in 2009, the 5.5 km monorail line is the only public transportation system on the Palm Jumeirah catering to residents, visitors and tourists alike. One of the most iconic ways to explore all the Palm Jumeirah’s exciting attractions, The Palm Monorail has a low impact on the surrounding environment.

The Palm Monorail now runs seven days a week at regular intervals from 9am – 10pm. Ticket prices start from AED 10 for a single trip, however, new ticketing packages and bundles have been introduced, allowing customers to save up to 60% and choose from a range of family passes, as well as weekly, monthly and yearly memberships. Tickets can now be purchased online (www.palmmonorail.com), including e-tickets to improve hygiene conditions and ease travel in a Covid-19 environment.

Omar Khoory, Managing Director Nakheel Malls, said: “Nakheel Malls is proud to bring back the only monorail in the Middle East, The Palm Monorail. As the only public transportation service on the Palm, The Palm Monorail will further enhance the Palm Jumeirah experience. We look forward to the express connectivity this will bring to both Dubai residents and tourists.”

The reopening has taken place with all Covid-19 safety measures and precautions in place, such as social distancing, thermal checks, masks and gloves for all Palm Monorail staff and regular deep cleaning.

The must-visit stations are:

  • Palm Gateway: Located at the entrance of the Palm Jumeirah, the first station conveniently hosts more than 1,600 parking spaces and is a short walk from the  the Dubai Tram Palm Jumeirah Station.
  • Al Ittihad Park: The station is linked to Golden Mile Galleria and connects thousands of residents from the convenience of their doorstep, while the ride offers breath-taking views of the 3-kilometre park. The park is known as the green oasis of the Palm Jumeirah and spans 1.1 million square foot. Al Ittihad Park is home to more than 60 varieties of trees and plants indigenous to the UAE.
  • Nakheel Mall: This station takes customers to the only mall on the Palm Jumeirah, Nakheel Mall, which shoppers can now easily access for fine dining, shopping and everyday services. In due time, this will also include access to The View observation deck and the St. Regis Hotel, launching in Q2 2021.
  • Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark: This station is located at the entrance of Aquaventure Waterpark and the tip of the Palm Jumeirah, where residents and hotel guests can take a day pass to float, slip, slide and play at the United Arab Emirates’ number one waterpark.
