From flour to fluff: Children enjoy hands-on fluff cookies baking experience at SCRF 2023

Cookie cravings were more than satiated at the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF), when renowned chef Grace took to the festival’s popular Cookery Corner to whip up her unique rendition of the sweet and crumbly delicacy, fluff cookies. 

The young attendees were rapt in attention as Grace mixed the cookie ingredients together. During the preps, the chef also offered simple insights to children on the science behind baking cookies. Then came Grace’s special ingredient, Fluff, which was added to the dough mix. 

Young audience were thrilled as they watched cookie cutters shape the dough into fun designs. As the baking process began, the audience watched in amazement as the dough started to rise and turn golden brown in the oven. The aroma of the freshly baked Fluff Cookies filled the air, and the children eagerly waited for them to cool down. The workshop ended with the children taking home some delicious Fluff Cookies and a newfound appreciation for the art of baking.

The Cookery Corner is among the most popular spots at SCRF, with a wide variety of workshops designed to suit different age groups and encourage children to explore their creativity and culinary skills.

The SCRF is now a world-renowned festival that provides a platform for children to discover the joys of reading and learning through various fun and interactive activities. This year’s festival is a huge success, with thousands of children and their families attending the various events and workshops.
