As part of Dubai Health Authority’s ( DHA’s) ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare awareness in the Emirate of Dubai, DHA recently organised a specialised workshop to increase awareness of legal procedures within the healthcare sector in Dubai including the most prominent provisions of the current legislation on the registration of new-borns and the issuance of birth certificates, including Federal Law Decree No. (10) of 2022, regulating the registration of births and deaths.

The specialised workshop was conducted by the Legal Affairs Department in coordination with the Public Health Protection Department at the DHA and received widespread response from the healthcare professionals who were keen to attend and actively participate.

The workshop also included a detailed explanation of the concepts and terms stipulated by these legislations, and an introduction to the roles and responsibilities of healthcare entities and their employees concerning birth notifications and requests for the issuance of birth certificates, and the requirements of each, emphasising the necessity to comply with the provisions stipulated by Federal Law Decree No. (10) of 2022, to avoid committing any acts that contravene the aforementioned law, while clarifying the most prominent violations specified by the law and the associated penalties.

The workshop encompassed both theoretical and practical aspects to ensure that healthcare professionals in Dubai are well-versed with all the legal regulations and requirements pertaining to this matter.
