Acclaimed and established artists are showcasing their work anonymously alongside students from Mawaheb from Beautiful People, a Dubai-based art studio for adults with special needs.
The four daylong event in Al Quoz is on until Thursday and saw a full house descend on the venue on Monday night with around 70 pieces of art being sold within a couple of hours.
Hosted by the Evolve Company in support of Mawaheb from Beautiful People, the Art in Secret exhibition features 100 original A5-sized artworks by renowned artists, photographers and designers, as well as new creators and art students, all signed on the back.
With legendary artists and designers contributing such as Fereydoun Ave, Farah Ossouli, Koorosh Shishegaran, Ali Akbar Sadeghi, Babak Yaghooti, Fatma Lootah, Amartey Golding and Elham Moaidnia, the exhibition allows art lovers to purchase their work for just 500 dirham each without knowing whose work they have bought at first!
Artist Lina Abojaradeh said; “I’m honored to have been chosen among the 100 artists for the Art in Secret show in Dubai. Art in Secret gives art students the same shared platform as famous artists”.
For Mawaheb from Beautiful People, the event has enabled the students’ art to be appreciated for its beauty and conceptualization in the same way as their established counterparts, with all artists’ work being equal.
Mawaheb is an art studio for adults with special needs located in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood. The purpose of the art studio is to bridge the gap between society and those people with a special need. At Mawaheb from Beautiful People, art is used as a tool to develop life skills and encourage students to be more independent individuals.
The event is on until Thursday 21st January, 10am to 7pm.
