The Flag Island Family ‘Fun Run’ Set to Take Place on January 5

It’s time to lace up your shoes and get ready for “The Flag Island ‘Fun Run” on January 5, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The 3km run will take place at the Flag Island Jogging Track. Registration is now open for all families to participate in the fun community-wide activity.

The run celebrates ‘Global Family Day’, which falls on the 1st of January. It’s a day that grew out of the Millennium celebration, “One Day in Peace” with the aim of uniting and spreading peace in the definitive belief that earth is our home and a place for everyone to live.

Khuloud Salim Al Junaibi, General Manager of The Flag Island, said: “Families that run together, stay healthy together. The goal of Flag Island Fun Run is to promote a love for fitness among kids and parents. It’s so important to embed a healthy lifestyle into a kids’ early life. We want family and friends to enjoy the run, enrich their lives, raise awareness on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and find inspiration to lead an active and prosperous life.”

She added: “We encourage everyone to register and join us in the run. To share the fun with the whole family. The Flag Island aims to present healthy and social activities throughout the year, to motivate the whole family to be part of them and build-up strong relations while having fun.”
